Lesa Sobek, Bob Karwin and Dan Temple appear to be on their way to winning seats on the Menifee City Council, according to election results released Tuesday night.

Sobek, currently the District 3 council representative, led the race for mayor with 42.06 percent of the votes as of midnight Tuesday. She was 1,237 votes ahead of current District 2 council member Ricky Estrada, who had received 42.06 percent. Dameon Greene was third with 10.96 percent.

The latest election update shows all precincts reporting. However, that doesn't include many mail-in ballots still to be counted, according to the Riverside County Registar of Voters. The county has until Nov. 12 to finish the count.

That said, in District 1, incumbent Bob Karwin leads with 59.47 percent, followed by Mark Harkay with 40.53 percent. In District 3, Dan Temple leads with 67.04 percent of the votes, followed by Felix Montano with 17.66 percent and Gene Recor with 15.24 percent.

Bond measures for both Menifee Union School District and Romoland School District appear headed for approval. “Yes” for Measure R for MUSD had received 55.09 percent of the votes, while “Yes” for Measure I for Romoland had received 56.76 percent.

In the race for Director of Area 5 in the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, Menifee resident Christopher Carnes trailed leader Angela Domenigoni Little by only 7 votes.
