Retiring city clerk Sarah Manwaring was honored by the Menifee City Council on Wednesday for her years of service to the city.
Manwaring served nine years as city clerk in Menifee after coming over from the City of Murrieta, where she served in a similar capacity. According to City Manager Armando Villa, she was instrumental in creating a digital filing system for the city.
“When I first came here, I sat down with Sarah and we talked about the needs and vision for the city,” Villa said. “We talked about how we needed to digitize the documents, and she really took the helm. She created probably the most innovative filing system of any city around.”
“When I first started out, I didn’t realize this would be my path,” said Manwaring, who has 20 years of civic service. “Kathy Bennett (the city’s first city clerk) urged me to apply when she was retiring, and I’m so glad I ended up here. Thank you for your support.”
