Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for October at Santa Rosa Academy. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.
Junior cross country runner Benjamin Judnick has had an outstanding season for the boys cross country team, said coach Megan Hansen.
“Ben is determined to keep trying his very best every day he shows up to practice,” Hansen said. “I see his discipline and the hard work he is putting in every day. I always tell my kids to get comfortable being uncomfortable, and I see how Ben consistently pushes himself out of his comfort zone in efforts of being the best runner he can be. Keep it up Ben!”
Football coach Perry Jones has high praise for senior Caleb Delgado, who has rushed for 274 yards and 3 touchdowns and has contributed in many other ways for the Rangers. They play Pasadena High Friday in the first round of the CIF-SS playoffs.
“Caleb was selected two times as team captain during October for his on-field prowess and leadership,” Jones said. “Caleb is a fantastic teammate. He leads his team by example and is always ready to play on game day.”
Chloe Heiner has been a standout player all season for the girls volleyball team, which posted a 17-9 record this season.
“Chloe has been a great leader, teammate, and a leader on and off the court,” said her coach, Elizabeth Culhane.
Sophomore Bryleigh Delis has continued to show improvement for the girls golf team, said coach Jennifer Santolucito.
“Bryleigh has continued to better her score and this month reached the 40’s,” her coach said. “This was her season goal and a huge accomplishment. Bryleigh is an exception golfer. She is not only a natural born athlete, but she has spent time honing her skills and continues to improve. Her dedication and commitment is admirable.”SRA Athletes of the Month are supported by school administrators, coaches and parents.
