The City of Menifee has come to contract agreements with the Menifee Police Officers Association and Menifee Police Employees Association, City Manager Armando Villa said this week.
Negotiations had been taking place off and on for nearly two years, as previously reported in this recent news article. Anonymous letters, calls and emails – apparently from Menifee PD employees – had criticized city management, claiming that negotiations were intentionally stalled by the city and that they were being offered only a 2.5 percent cost of living raise, while other city employees received 4 percent.
Villa said that the MPOA and MPEA unanimously approved management’s latest offer, which included a 4 percent salary for each of the next three years. The agreement will go to the City Council for approval at its Dec. 5 meeting.
The third Menifee PD negotiating party – the Menifee Police Management Association – continues in negotiations with the City.
