The Menifee City Council last week approved the completion documents regarding the widening of a short stretch of Bradley Road adjacent to Paloma Valley High School.
As with any school, Paloma Valley experiences high volumes of motor and pedestrian traffic each morning and afternoon. The narrow two-lane roadway with no sidewalks has been considered a safety issue for years. This project was a cooperative effort between the City of Menifee and Perris Union High School District.
In this phase of the project, 200 linear feet of Bradley Road were widened on the east side of Bradly Road. A crosswalk with flashing beacons was installed just south of the school’s northern entrance. The sidewalk was extended and an American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramp was installed.
Per the agreement, PUHSD will be responsible for improvements on the west side of Bradley Road. That would include the installation of additional ADA ramps and a traffic signal at the entrance to the school. Those improvements are expected to be completed by 2026, according to city documents.
The contract with Wheeler Paving, Inc. was completed under budget in the amount of $265,477. All costs were supported by previously approved Capital Improvement Program Budgets.Blue area shows the location of the road project.
