On Halloween, we recall our visit to a local haunted house

It’s Halloween time again, with thoughts of ghosts, goblins and all things creepy. At this time of year, we remember our visit to the Patterson House in Winchester – a place we can personally testify is haunted.

To get us all in the mood, here’s a link to the Menifee 24/7 story about our 2014 visit to the Patterson House. We checked with curator Gregg Cowdery, who told us the house and museum is still open for daily tours and weekend night tours. For a $40 charge, you can stay in the house from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m. and wait for the ghostly encounters!

The Patterson House and Museum is located at 28030 Patterson Ave. in Winchester. For information or to schedule a tour, call 951-294-0899. Be prepared, because you never know what might happen. According to Cowdery, a guest during a recent tour saw a ghost walk right past them!
