A resident of the Romoland community in Menifee was arrested Tuesday in connection with mail theft, police said today.
Kristen Starnes, 42, was observed by a resident tampering with a community mailbox on Sandy Plains Drive in Nuevo, according to a Riverside Sheriff’s Department news release. The suspect fled the location, but the resident provided a description of the vehicle. Deputies soon located Starnes, who was found to be in possession of a large quantity of stolen mail.
Investigators discovered stolen mail belonging to over 50 individuals from Nuevo and Menifee. Starnes was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta for vandalism, identity theft, and multiple additional charges.
