Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor Athletes of the Month for September at Heritage High School. Honorees were selected by the coaches of their respective sports and were recognized with a presentation of certificates and photo opportunity on campus.
Vivian Nguyen was selected to represent the girls volleyball team.
“Vivian has been stepping up in games,” said her coach, Diamond Brogan. “She is a resilient athlete. She never quits and I love that about her.”
Girls tennis coach Monty McIntosh has high praise for Kiyomii Willis.
“She is a brand new player who has filled in several times at the varsity level,” McIntosh said. “ She plays with confidence and really improves every time she steps on the court.”
The honoree from the Patriots football team is Dominic Dunn Tornatore. He has 14 catches for 219 yards and a touchdown and is one of the team leaders.
Golfer Marissa Spencer shot a career-best 60 in a recent match against San Jacinto.
“Marissa is very friendly and has helped to create a positive environment around the girls golf team,” said her coach, Michael Mattison.
Boys water polo player Zebediah Downs is a valuable performer for the Patriots, says his coach, Shannon Stephenson.
“Zebediah has been a standout performer on the water polo team, showcasing his incredible skills and leadership in the pool,” the coach said. “With an impressive 30 goals, 13 assists, and a team-leading 26 steals, Zebediah’s impact on both offense and defense has been remarkable. His ability to read the game, make crucial plays, and support his teammates exemplifies his dedication and hard work. Zebediah’s all-around performance is a testament to his determination, athleticism, and commitment to excellence. Keep up the great work, Zebediah! Your contributions are invaluable to our team!”
Franklin York of the boys cross country team placed second in the first Inland Valley League race of the season. Cameron Delaney of the girls cross country team finished first in the girls varsity race.
