Plans for a permanent City Hall in Menifee Town Center are still somewhere in the future, but work on the facility’s parking lot will begin soon to accommodate an adjacent site.
The City announced this week it is inviting bids for grading of the property and other construction aspects at the site, which is located at 27600 City Hall Drive – south of the Fairfield Inn and Suites. This part of the project is being pushed forward now so the lot can be used for parking for the amphitheater, which is being built in Central Park down the street. That is scheduled to open next summer.
“The City also has a reciprocal parking agreement with the new Menifee Justice Center,” said City public information officer Philip Southard about the courthouse across the street. “Our parking lot can accommodate potential overflow parking for them during the week, and we can use theirs after hours and on weekends to accommodate additional parking for City events.
“In addition to the amphitheater construction, we also have the Paloma Wash Pedestrian Bridge moving forward that will provide additional connectivity between Central Park and the shopping centers directly to the east [see rendering below].”
In 2019, the City signed a 10-year lease on an office building at 29844 Haun Road, the current site of City Hall. City officials long ago said they are already outgrowing that facility.
