Dear Menifee Residents,
My name is Ricky Estrada, member of our Air Force Reserves, 8th grade History Teacher, and member of our Menifee City Council.
We need leaders and visionaries in Menifee who want to see Menifee become that shining city on top of the hill. Menifee has the potential right now to be molded into a great city, while we are still growing. But, we need to set the course of this ship straight before we become a city ruled only by developers with no regard for Menifee’s “Unique Identity”. As your future Mayor, I hear you, the people. We need more local entertainment options for our kids and families. Menifee’s next priority in its lifetime should be to attract a private entertainment industry.
I will advocate for mom and pop shops, unique dining options, and a distinct downtown which gives our community a place of pride and unique identity. What is Menifee known for besides “A growing city” and more houses being built? Does anyone else not see our infrastructure cannot keep up? Did you know we can still improve infrastructure without taking money from these types of developments? Why don’t we become more selective with commercial developers, to also bring residents the entertainment and amenities they desire?
I am doing my part as your representative by having added “Lowering businesses license fees to the lowest in the County” to the City Council’s meeting agenda. This is one step in improving the lives of our businesses here in Menifee. The city could be expanding tax incentives programs to help our entrepreneurs and entertainment industry. This will pay itself back over time with the sales tax generation.
Menifee needs to set itself apart. Our neighboring cities have a “Unique Identity” which set them apart and attract residents from other cities. I will bring us more hope and stand proud of my record as your City Council representative. Some of us have been going along with the status quo, I am not. Join me and let’s bring A FRESH PERSPECTIVE.
All The Best,
Ricky Estrada
