Fundraiser scheduled to honor 2-year-old transplant patient

A special event will be held in Menifee Oct. 4 to raise funds in support of a former Menifee family whose 2-year-old daughter is a heart transplant recipient.

The event will take place at Impact Church, 29697 New Hub Drive, from 6-8 p.m. Funds raised will be donated to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of Bailey Lopp, whose family had recently moved to northern California from Menifee when she was born July 7, 2002. At age 4, Bailey developed respiratory problems and received a heart transplant due to an enlarged heart. Many family members still live in Menifee.

Bailey and her parents will join the attendees via Zoom to talk about her journey and answer questions about COTA. Cost of the event is $25. Pulled pork, side dishes and desserts will be served.
