A motorcyclist died Thursday night in a collision with a truck on Murrieta Road, authorities said.
The victim was identified by the Coroner’s Office as Daniel Cantor Gonzalez, 30, of Menifee. According to a Menifee Police Department news release, the motorcycle was driving northbound on Murrieta Road near the intersection of Farmington Road about 6:50 p.m. A Dodge Ram was driving southbound on Murrieta Road and attempted a left-hand turn onto Farmington Road when the collision occurred.
Responding officers found the victim on the shoulder of Murrieta Road suffering from major injuries. Officers and Cal Fire personnel continued life-saving measures that had been started by witnesses. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A stretch of Murrieta Road was closed for several hours during the investigation, which is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Pisciuneri at 951-723-1668 or contact the Traffic Unit at 951-723-1690.
