Martial Arts competitor Joseph Carrillo honored by Council

The Menifee City Council on Wednesday honored Joseph Carrillo, a young martial arts competitor who was recently featured in Menifee 24/7.

On April 6, Joseph competed in two divisions at the California State Championships in Fresno and won gold medals in both. Gold medalists make the California Unified Taekwondo Association team and represent the USA in future events.

On April 12, Joseph competed at the NCTA High School Championships in the 55kg division, representing Sparks Taekwondo of Murrieta, Santa Rosa Academy and the City of Menifee. Again, he won a gold medal.
