Candidate introduction: Ricky Estrada runs for Mayor

Editor’s note: It’s campaign season for candidates seeking local public office. As residents are certified as official candidates, we invite them to submit an introductory statement for publication. They also have the option of purchasing paid political advertisements. In today’s statement we hear from Ricky Estrada, a candidate for Mayor of Menifee. He has also included a videotaped statement, at the link immediately below.

My name is Ricky Estrada, a member of our military in the Air Force Reserves, an educator of U.S. History in Menifee, and member of our Menifee City Council.

I am the ONLY candidate for Mayor:

1) To have signed the oath that I will not accept campaign contribution money from developers.

Since 2022, I have voted on projects without influence or bias of developer money. I have always and will continue to vote based off only the best interests of the community and the people.

2) To have a voting record against warehouses in our beautiful city. I have always voted against new warehouses and even have voted to overturn prior warehouse approvals. We must protect our small town feel.

3) To have a voting record against increasing housing density, previously approved projects, and annexing more homes towards Winchester. We must manage the infrastructure deficiencies we have now before adding more to the traffic problems we face.

I hear you Menifee! Our priorities are public safety, infrastructure getting fixed, and more local entertainment!

It’s time for “A Fresh Perspective” to lead us into the next generation of our city.
