Travel ball basketball teams win medals in nationals

Menifee 12 U champions

Two travel ball basketball teams from Menifee recently won medals at the West Coast National Championships in Las Vegas.

The Menifee SOPAC 12U team won the gold medal, going undefeated in the tournament after moving up a division. Last year, they won the championship as well. The team went undefeated last year and this season. It is coached by Ruben Ortega and Junior Baker.

The Menifee 13U SOPAC team, competing in the tournament for the first time, won a silver medal in its division. The team is coached by Ruben Ortega and Chris Alfaro.
