The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Glenmar Salcedo, 50. He died at the scene of the accident on Rancho California Road just west of Ynez Road. The accident occurred about 5:19 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Hyundai SUV crossed over into oncoming traffic on Rancho California Road and struck another vehicle head-on, pushing it into a third vehicle, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. Salcedo, the driver of the Hyundai, did not survive.
Two other individuals were transported to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries. It is not believed that intoxication played a role in the collision.
