The following is a tribute to local resident Craig Ashcraft, who passed away last week:
Craig wasn't just someone you knew; he was someone you couldn't help but love and want to be around all the time. His infectious humor, kindness, and boundless energy brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Whether it was lending a hand with a smile, starting a new project every day, spending hours cooking a homemade meal, or lightening the mood with his quick wit, Craig made an indelible impact on all who crossed his path.
Despite battling a lifelong heart condition, Craig approached life with unwavering enthusiasm. He never allowed his health challenges to dampen his spirit or his commitment to his loved ones. Craig worked hard every single day, regardless of how ill he felt. His resilience in the face of adversity was an inspiration to everyone around him.
As Craig's health took a challenging turn, we hoped for a miracle with a heart and double lung transplant. Through it all, Craig remained dedicated to his family, continuing to work tirelessly even as his health declined. On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Craig passed away, leaving a huge void in our hearts and our community.
Craig's absence is deeply felt—the absence of his laughter at gatherings, the absence of his smile as he ate all the lemons he could before someone caught him, and the absence of his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.
Due to his lifelong battle with heart issues, Craig never qualified for life insurance, which weighed on him and his family in recent years as his health declined. Now, his family faces unexpected expenses without the help of insurance.
Craig leaves behind his beautiful wife and four amazing children, along with countless memories that we will forever hold on to. As we come together to support his family during this difficult time, we would appreciate any assistance anyone can offer his family with the financial challenges they now face.
Please consider contributing to support Craig's family through their everyday expenses and funeral costs. Contributions can be made to Craig's wife through Zelle or Venmo, listed below.
