Grant Bennett, superintendent of the Perris Union High School District, was honored by the Menifee City Council on Wednesday upon his retirement after 31 years of service to the area.

Bennett, who oversees Paloma Valley, Heritage and Liberty high schools in the Menifee area, also is in charge of high school education in Perris. He was instrumental in obtaining public funding for the new Liberty High School, which opened in 2021, and most recently was the driving force behind the construction of swimming pools at four high schools.
