Congratulations to Matthew Gaunt, a Menifee resident who is graduating from U.S. Navy boot camp Thursday in Great Lakes, Illinois. A 2021 graduate of Paloma Valley High School, Gaunt is receiving the Military Order of the World Wars Award of Merit. He is one of six out of almost 900 recruits to be receiving a special honor at the graduation ceremony.

Matthew will be going to Corpsmon A school in San Antonio, Texas. His goal is to finish his training in three years and be assigned to Marine Reconnaissance Unit as their Medic.
