Christian Theater Arts Project proudly announces its upcoming production of Disney's "The Little Mermaid", performing this weekend at Liberty High School.
Experience the magic of the classic Disney film brought to life on stage with a cast of 75 talented young performers ages 8-18 from Menifee, Winchester, Murrieta, and Temecula. Dive into the enchanting underwater world as Ariel embarks on a captivating journey to pursue her dreams above the sea.
Christian Theater Arts Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the creative talents of youth. Set pieces, props, and costumes are prepared by parent volunteers, currently including an impressive backdrop of stunning foam rock formations. These impressive set pieces were purchased from a film studio and were previously featured in the 2020 film "Call of the Wild."
When asked to describe the show, Menifee resident and set design volunteer Angela Livingston said, "When we were planning how to present The Little Mermaid, we thought, why not do something unique and give it a 1920s flair?" The effect is both charming and fresh while preserving the iconic elements we all know and love from the Disney film.
Directed by Jennifer Lloyd, with choreography by Talia Crume and musical direction by Makenna Worthing, this production promises to captivate audiences of all ages with its unforgettable songs, including classics like "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl," and "Part of Your World." There are also wonderful new additions written by the original composer, Alan Menken, that further develop some of our favorite characters: Ariel, Eric, and Ursula. Performances will take place on May 11, 12, 18, and 19, with Saturday matinee and evening shows at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively, and Sunday performances at 2 p.m.
Don't miss your chance to enjoy this spectacular production! Tickets are available online at www.theaterartsproject.org.
