'Super Thursday' features six area teams at home in playoffs

It will be Super Thursday for high school sports playoffs in Menifee, with six of seven local playoff entrants at home – including three at the same school at roughly the same time.
The heaviest action will be at Paloma Valley High School, where the Wildcats baseball team will start the action with a 3:15 p.m. game against Crean Lutheran. Paloma won its league title with a perfect record and has a 27-1 overall mark.
At 3:45 p.m. on the softball field next door, the Wildcats will be in action against San Jacinto. Paloma Valley is 15-9 this season. Then at 5 p.m., Paloma’s girls lacrosse team will play host to Orange Lutheran. The Wildcats have a 9-6 overall record.
Elsewhere on Thursday, Heritage High’s baseball team will play at La Quinta. The Patriots finished third in the Ivy League. Liberty’s baseball team has a bye in the first round in Division 5.
Liberty’s softball team will play host to Palm Desert after compiling an 18-6 record and winning its league. Santa Rosa Academy will be at home against the winner of a wild-card game.
In girls lacrosse, Heritage will be at home against Murrieta Valley. The Patriots finished league play with a 7-1 record.
