Menifee man dies in motorcycle collision on Menifee Road

A Menifee man died Saturday night in a motorcycle crash on Menifee Road, police said today.

The victim, identified by the Coroner as 28-year-old Sean Weaver, was pronounced dead near the intersection of Menifee Road and Bayport Lane, according to a Menifee Police Department news release. Officers determined that Weaver was riding his Harley Davidson southbound on Menifee Road about 9:13 p.m. when it struck a curb, causing the rider to lose control.

Cal Fire reported that the motorcycle and nearby vegetation caught fire, which was immediately put out. A light pole was also damaged.
