Joseph Carrillo wins multiple gold medals in championships

Santa Rosa Academy sophomore Joseph Carrillo won gold medals in two recent taekwondo championship events.

On April 6, Joseph competed in two divisions at the California State Championships in Fresno and won gold medals in both. Gold medalists make the California Unified Taekwondo Association team and represent the USA in future events.

On April 12, Joseph competed at the NCTA High School Championships in the 55kg division, representing Sparks Taekwondo of Murrieta, Santa Rosa Academy and the City of Menifee. Again, he won a gold medal.

Joseph has applied for the NCTA High school scholarship for his achievements in taekwondo, the community and school. He attends Sparks Taekwondo trains under Master Jef Go.
