Liberty sends 22 wrestlers to CIF Individual Championships

The Liberty High School wrestling program will send 22 wrestlers to this weekend’s CIF Individual Championships.

Of the 11 girls who qualified, three won championships at the recent league finals: Anna Bozanic, Siana Valentine, and Samantha Crossman. Bozanic is ranked No. 1 in the state and is undefeated this season.

Of the 11 boys who qualified, three won league titles: Jordan Moore, Vincent Scola, and Dylan Backer. Backer is an honorable mention in the state rankings.

“This is only the second year we have been able to compete in league, and the most we have qualified so far,” said coach John Phillips. “We are looking forward to the continued development of our athletes in this very demanding sport and want to encourage everyone to come and wrestle, the sooner the better!”
