Three local teams will be in first-round games when the CIF girls soccer playoffs begin on Thursday.
Liberty High, which finished second in the Mountain Pass League, will be at home against Desert Hot Springs in a Division 6 opener. The Bison ended the regular season with a scoreless tie against Tahquitz and are 10-5-3 overall. In their previous two games, they outscored the opposition 14-0.
In another Division 6 game, Santa Rosa Academy will be at home against Cobalt Institute of Victorville. SRA is 15-2-3 overall and won the South Valley League championship.
Paloma Valley will play at Palm Desert in a Division 3 game. The Wildcats are 10-11-3 overall.
