Heritage High’s girls basketball team narrowly missed a trip to the third round of the CIF Division 3A playoffs Saturday, losing at home to Oakwood, 51-49.

The Patriots built a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter but let it get away. They were trailing by two points with a chance to send the game to overtime but a missed layup in the final seconds ended those chances.

Heritage finishes the season with an 18-12 overall record.
