Sisson, Gupta, Carrillo honored with Teen Awards

Three outstanding local high school students were honored by the Menifee City Council last week as winners of the fall awards in the Youth Leaders of Menifee program.

The winner of the Inspiring Academic award is Elsie Sisson, a senior at Paloma Valley High School. Outstanding Citizen is Ria Gupta, also a senior at Paloma Valley High School. Joseph Carrillo, a sophomore at Santa Rosa Academy, won the All-Star Athlete award.

Students must be nominated by a teacher, mentor, coach or community member. The program is sponsored by the Lake Menifee Women’s Club. Season winners receive a $100 prize and are eligible for the Teen of the Year award at the end of the school year.
