Menifee welcomes in Christmas season with tree lighting

Menifee residents ushered in the Christmas season Saturday night in the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Bazzar at Mt. San Jacinto College.

A community parade, snow play area and kids’ train ride were featured activities of the event, which culminates annually in the lighting of the city’s designated Christmas tree. The light switch was thrown by Santa, who arrived with Mrs. Claus in a fire engine to join City Council members and dignitaries on stage.

Community groups also performed on stage and vendors sold their goods along the parade route. This was one of many holiday activities scheduled in the city over the next few weeks.
