Master Sergeant Frank Puebla, commander of the Paloma Valley High School NJROTC battalion, was honored this week as Menifee’s Citizen of the Month.
Puebla is in charge of a unit that has won multiple awards and represents itself well at local and regional events.
“I’ve watched over the years so many students … come out of the program ready to take on whatever is called for,” Mayor Bill Zimmerman said about Puebla’s influence on the program. “This unit is one of the best things that has ever happened to the city.”
“Outstanding citizenship, leadership, it’s easy when you care about people,” Puebla said in accepting the award at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. “It’s my honor to serve my cadets. They motivate me to be the best person I can be.”
