The specialty store that is most often requested in Menifee is moving closer to the city, but they’re not here yet.
Quoting a City of Murrieta source, Murrieta Patch is reporting that Trader Joe’s is negotiating to open a store in a vacant storefront on Murrieta Hot Springs Road. The process has just begun, but it’s a hopeful sign for local residents who prefer the wide range of specialty grocery items available there.
According to the news article, Murrieta officials say they have been pursuing a Trader Joe’s for 10 years. It has been at least that long in Menifee, where economic development staff has been in frequent contact with the business, only to be told that Menifee doesn’t fit their demographics.
Today, however, Menifee Economic Development Director Gina Gonzalez said that Trader Joe’s “is looking at opportunities here in Menifee.” The city’s rapid growth and the aggressive pursuit by Gonzalez and her staff may be turning the situation into a more positive one. Stay tuned.

The staff in economic development and planning all met many times with Trader Joe's but they said it was too close to Temecula store and not enough draw, etc. Please, give me a break Trader Joes. you are just traders to me. Come to Menifee and reach so many in a small radius.
