Ivy League champion Paloma Valley will be at home against Valley Christian High Thursday at 5 p.m. in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 4 girls volleyball playoffs.
The Wildcats (18-5) clinched the league title Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep of Elsinore. That, coupled with Rancho Christian’s loss to Riverside Poly, gave Paloma sole possession of first place with a 7-1 record. The Wildcats have won five consecutive league titles.
Valley Christian comes into Thursday’s match with a 15-10 overall record, 6-2 for second place in the Olympic League.
Mia Rosas leads the Wildcats with an average of 3.7 kills per set, with a .294 hitting percentage. Baylie Moore leads the team with 44 total blocks and Grace Liesemeyer leads in digs per set at 3.1.
In a Division 8 playoff opener on Thursday, Liberty (12-10) will be at home against La Sierra Academy (8-8). In a Division 9 wild-card game on Tuesday, Santa Rosa Academy will play at Grove.
