Menifee youth win medals at taekwondo championships

Four Santa Rosa Academy students from Menifee recently won medals at the USA Taekwondo National Championships held in Jacksonville, Florida, both in sparring and poomsae.

J Caleb Garcia won a gold medal in sparring and silver medal in poomsae. Audrey Quilon won silver in sparring while Liam James Diaz won bronze in sparring and fifth Place in poomsae. Natalie Quilon claimed fifth Place in Sparring and sixth Place in the highly contested division in poomsae.

Under the tutelage of former Olympian and World Taekwondo champion Master Walter Dean Vargas of Quest Taekwondo Temecula, these kids will soar to great heights someday in taekwondo!
