Menifee youth basketball teams win national titles

Two travel ball basketball teams from Menifee recently won championships at the West Coast National Championships, hosted by “Jam on it” in Las Vegas.

The 11U team went undefeated with a 6-0 record, while the 17U team also finished in first place in its division. The 11U team is a new team of fifth graders who have played basketball for both Valley-Wide as well as the City of Menifee. This was their first time competing in a large-scale tournament.

Both teams are coached by Ruben Ortega, who is also a coach at Liberty High School.
