A Romoland resident faces seven felony counts after he was arrested in possession of more than $62,000 worth of stolen heavy equipment property, authorities said.
Officers responded on Wednesday to the report of a past burglary, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. The victim stated his business had been burglarized and numerous items were stolen, including a bobcat, a trailer, and numerous tools and equipment. The Perris Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) began an investigation with the help of the Menifee Police Department.
Following a lead, the stolen property was located at a residence in the 27000 block of Ethanac Road in Menifee. Rigoberto Plasencia, 33, was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on multiple charges, including violation of his Post Release Community Supervision. He is being held without bail.
RBST officers recovered over $50,000 in stolen property belonging to the victim and an additional $12,500 in Milwaukee tools that were stolen from Home Depot. The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with additional information is urged to call RBST Deputy Nicholas Ramirez at Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099 or the Perris Station at 951-210-1000.
