The Menifee City Council last week approved a contract for the environmental and design services on a project to widen Menifee Road to four lanes from Garbani Road south to Scott Road.
The agreement, not to exceed $974,310, will be funded in the existing budget from Transportation Uniform Mitigation Fees (TUMF) – fees paid by developers in the area. The contract was awarded to Parsons, which was selected from nine bidders for the project.
In order to widen the road from two lanes to four, the project will relocate overhead utilities, modify storm drain culverts, and install sidewalk and pedestrian ramps. The scope of work will include environmental studies and submittals to environmental permitting agencies, as well as community outreach and right-of-way acquisition.
The terms of the agreement will extend through June 30, 2025.
