The City of Menifee is moving forward with plans to build a pedestrian bridge across Paloma Wash, giving residents access to Central Park from Town Center Marketplace.
The City has issued a notice soliciting bids for construction of the bridge, which was part of the original plan for Menifee Town Center. This would allow residents to park at Menifee Town Center or Countryside Marketplace on Haun Road and walk across the wash to attend events at Central Park, where plans call for an amphitheater to be built. It would also provide access for residents of Menifee Town Center to walk across to the commercial centers.
According to city documents, the pre-fabricated bridge would be approximately 174 feet long and 14 feet wide. It would include lighting and other architectural features.
“The Paloma Wash Pedestrian Bridge project will create direct access from the residential development on the west side of the channel to the commercial development on the east side by joining bicycle and pedestrian paths paralleling the channel,” stated the notice for bids. “It will also make a path connecting the food and retail options on the east side of the channel to Central Park, an existing park currently under expansion, and other public facilities that have been constructed and that are planned for the future.”
