A man is hospitalized in police custody following the murder of a 43-year-old woman at a Menifee residence on Thursday, police said.
Menifee Police Department officers responded at 5:49 a.m. to the 27500 block of Summit Street regarding a disturbance call, according to a Menifee PD news release. The caller said they heard sounds of yelling and “possible hitting” coming from their roommate’s room. Officers located a deceased woman with visible trauma to her body. The identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Officers identified the suspect as Carl Dupsloff, 43, who was still at the scene and was detained without incident. Dupsloff was taken to a local hospital “due to an altered state of mind for medical evaluation,” according to police. Upon his release, Dupsloff will be booked in the Cois Byrd Detention Center on a charge of homicide.
The preliminary investigation indicated this was an isolated incident and that the involved parties knew each other. There are no outstanding suspects or danger to the community. No other details were immediately available.
