Officials broke ground Friday on one of the first mixed-use developments in Menifee.
The Boulders will be located on the northeast corner of Berea and Normandy Roads, across the street from Spirit Park. It is a mixed-use commercial and multiple family residential project including a three-story medical office building, 8,250-square-foot day care building with outdoor play area, and a 234-unit luxury apartment complex.
“We’re excited about being able to serve the families in this community,” said John Evans, representing The Boulders. “Not only with health care, but in providing and safe and healthy place to live.”
Mayor Bill Zimmerman and City Council members Dean Deines and Lesa Sobek were in attendance for the ceremony, which was held in front of the 10-acre lot as construction crews used heavy equipment to break up large boulders in the background.
“All of these kinds of projects are part of our city’s commerce and growth,” Zimmerman said. “We want to be a diverse community that offers lots of alternatives for housing and lifestyles. This is answering one of those needs we have. We need to be able to offer a variety of choices.”
