Menifee 10-under soccer team wins AYSO area title

Menifee’s AYSO 10-under girls soccer team last week won the Area championship, beating second-seeded Hemet 3-2 in an overtime shootout.

After Friday’s victory at the Jurupa Regional Sports Park, the team ended its season with an 18-0-1 overall record. It was 9-0-1 in area league play. During those 10 games, Menifee outscored opponents 25-4 with six shutouts.

The group is now transitioning to City SC club status in order to play a new schedule at that level. According to coach Scott Hall, the team will hold tryouts soon in order to add three to five girls to the team.
