Liberty High principal Tejeda named Citizen of Month

Liberty High School principal Erika Tejeda was honored by the Menifee City Council this week as the Citizen of the Month for June.

Tejeda served as principal of Heritage High School before taking over the job of opening the new Liberty High. She is an avid supporter of the students and was recognized as the Secondary Principal of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators. She was also named Principal of the Year for the Perris Union High School District.

“As a principal, she is not only an administrator, but also an advocate for the students,” said council member Dean Deines, who selected Tejeda for the award.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the amazing team of teachers, administrators and the students,” Tejeda said. “It’s an honor for our school.”
