Cano named Outstanding Citizen of Month for May

Michael Cano, a longtime Menifee resident and advocate for veterans’ affairs, was honored this week by the City Council as the Citizen of the Month for May.

Cano, a Vietnam veteran, has served as Post Commander for Menifee VFW Post 1956 for the last eight years. He also is a member of the American Indian Alaska Native Veteran Memorial Committee. He was instrumental in bringing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to Menifee this spring.

In addition, Cano serves on the City’s Qualify of Life (Measure DD) Oversight Committee. He is a member of the board of directors of the Economic Development Coalition and Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee.
