Paloma Valley, Liberty and Santa Rosa Academy will all be on the road when the CIF Southern Section baseball playoffs begin this week.
In Division 2, Paloma Valley will play at Tesoro High of Rancho Santa Margarita on Friday. The Wildcats take a 17-10-1 record into the game against the Titans, who are 20-8 and the South Coast League champions.
Paloma’s leading hitters include freshman Taytum Reeves, who is hitting .423 with 4 home runs and 27 RBIs; sophomore RJ Holmes, who is batting .409 with 18 RBIs; sophomore Jaylen Adams, who is batting .378; junior Joey Davis, who is hitting .395 with 15 RBIs; junior Ayden Harrison, who is batting. 354; and senior Gilberto Rodriguez, who is batting .350.
The pitching staff is led by sophomore Justin Allen, who is 5-0 with a 1.99 ERA; and senior Elijah Karney, who is 4-2 with a 2.60 ERA.
Liberty’s Bison will play at Colton in a Division 5 game on Friday. Liberty takes a 14-9 record against the Yellowjackets.
Liberty’s leading hitters include sophomore Riley Vogt, who is batting .393 with 2 home runs and 21 RBIs; sophomore Luis De La Riva, who is batting .388 with 10 RBIs; junior Landon Spicer, who is batting .361 with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs; junior DiAndrew Anderson, who is batting .333 with 12 RBIs; and sophomore Jake Feidner, who is batting .333 with 10 RBIs.
The pitching staff is led by sophomore Koehn Freitas, who is 5-0 with a 1.12 ERA; and Vogt, who is 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA.
Santa Rosa Academy will play at Palm Valley in a Division 7 wild-card game on Tuesday. The Rangers are 6-7 overall.
The Rangers’ leading hitters include Kyzer Metz, who is batting .465 with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs; Jacob Dulaney, who is hitting .450 with 16 RBIs; Tyler Kaewpalug, who hitting .3654 with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs; and Moses George, who is hitting .356 with 16 RBIs.
All games are scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.
