Evan Gonzales hit a home run, triple, and drove in three runs Friday to help lead the Liberty High baseball team to a 6-2 victory at Colton in the first round of the CIF Division 5 playoffs.
Sophomore pitcher Koehn Freitas got the win, allowing just one run and striking out four batters in four innings. The Bison improved their record to 16-9 and will be at home against Estancia in the second round on Tuesday.
Ian Slater went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored for the Bison. Sophomore pitcher Riley Vogt allowed one hit in two innings and junior Jonas Phipps allowed one run in one inning.
