Press release from Romoland School District:
MENIFEE -- Romoland School District invites the community to attend a Fentanyl Awareness Town Hall Event on Wednesday, May 10 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Ethan A. Chase Middle School.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is responsible for a growing number of overdose deaths in the United States. The purpose of the town hall is to educate the community on the dangers of fentanyl in our area, how to recognize it, and how to respond in an emergency situation.
The event will feature a panel comprised of experts in the field of substance abuse, law enforcement, and public health. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions for our panelists using this link: https://tejoin.com/scroll/581538356.
We are partnering with the Menifee Police Department, Riverside University Health Systems, Overdose Youth Safety in the Inland Empire, and more local organizations to provide resources and information about drug addiction, treatment, and prevention. The town hall aims to provide information and resources to the public about the dangers of fentanyl and how to prevent its abuse. We believe that it is important to work together as a community to address this critical issue, and we hope that you will join us in this effort.
In addition to the informative session, we are excited to offer food and refreshments for purchase from Quiroz Tacos, a local taco truck. We hope this will provide an opportunity for the community to connect and engage in a relaxed atmosphere.
The event is free to attend and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and family members to learn about this important issue.
