In an event that could be called a junior version of the television show “Shark Tank”, students at Harvest Valley Elementary School in Menifee designed and marketed businesses and products for presentation to the student body recently.
To recognize the school's annual CEO Market Day, participating fourth and fifth grade students discovered their own interests, skills and resources before deciding how to start a business. According to school counselor Rosalyn Carroll, students identified market demands, developed a business plan and produced products for “sale”.
On CEO Market Day April 21, students presented the results of their work and “sold” products in exchange for tickets from other students. The student with the most tickets at the end of the day will be named CEO of the Year. That winner will be announced at school assembly in May and be presented with a trophy. The student’s name will be added to the school’s perpetual plaque located in the front office.
This year some of the businesses represented were Sassy Snaps Photo Booth; Prime Glow in the Dark Bowling Pins; Forever A Friend Pet Rocks; N2 Designs; Tag It Bookmarks; Heritage Sticker, Co.; and You’ll Love Them Keychains.
Heritage stickers were a popular item during the Harvest Valley Elementary School's CEO Marketing Day.
Another product sold at CEO Marketing Day was uniquely decorated "Tag it" bookmarks.
