Paloma Valley cheer team fares well at nationals

The Paloma Valley High School Competition Cheer team went to Varsity USA Spirit Nationals in February and competed against teams from all over the country. They competed on a huge stage at the Anaheim Convention Center, and it was the first time any of them had ever been to a competition of that size.

They had a couple minor deductions in their stunts due to nerves, but they nailed the rest of the routine. Their division was extremely tough and they gave an amazing performance, received their highest score ever of a 94.7, and placed 14th out of 22 teams! The team is extremely young with over 50 percent freshmen and sophomores, and the coaches could not be more proud of the heart and tenacity they showed on the mat.

The coaches and athletes would like to thank all of their supporters for the donations and encouragement you provided, which helped them reach their goals this year. They would also like to give a huge shout out to Raising Cane's in Menifee for sponsoring one of their team meals for nationals.
