Aponte named Menifee's Outstanding Citizen of the Month

The Menifee Council this week recognized Jackie Aponte as the Outstanding Citizen of the Month.

Aponte is involved with many organizations as a volunteer, including MilVets (Support for Veterans), Relay for Life, Cub Scouts and Santa's Workshop. She was honored for her years of service to the community.

"Jackie is an example of the type of citizen who makes Menifee as great as it is," said Mayor Pro Tem Robert Karwin, who nominated Aponte for the award.

"If we all find our niche, we can make a big difference," said Council member Lesa Sobek. "Jackie certainly has found hers."
