Liberty High School student Paige Stowe was honored by the Menifee City Council on Wednesday as Menifee's Citizen of the Year.
Paige was one of the monthly honorees last year and was chosen from that group for the yearly award. In addition to a proclamation from the City of Menifee, she received recognition from Senator Kelly Seyarto, Assemblyman Bill Essayli and County Supervisor Chuck Washington.
"Paige is an example of what we all should be doing," said Council member Lesa Sobek, who originally nominated Paige for the Citizen of the Month award.
Also present at the presentation was Liberty High principal Erica Tejeda, who called Paige "An amazing young lady who goes above and beyond."
Paige's volunteer efforts include participation as a youth ambassador with The PossAbilities at Loma Linda; Animal Friends of the Valleys; Callie Kirkpatrick Elementary School; Homes for our Troops; American Legion; and Riverside National Cemetery. She is on the Liberty golf team and has a 4.0 GPA.
