The Riverside County Registrar’s Office this week certified the final election results for the mid-term elections, including four races involving local candidates.
Ricky Estrada’s final vote count in winning the Menifee City Council District 2 seat was 3,348, or 47.21 percent of the votes. Second was Ben Diederich with 1,917 votes (27.03 percent), followed by Angel Nevin with 938 (13.23 percent) and Altie Holcomb with 889 (12.54 percent).
Estrada will replace Matt Liesemeyer, who has termed out after serving eight years on the City Council. Mayor Pro Tem and District 4 representative Dean Deines, who ran unopposed, has already been re-appointed.
In the race for the TA3 seat on the Menifee Union School District board, Kyle Root won re-election with 2,983 votes, or 51.97 percent. Dennis Regus finished with 2,757 (48.03 percent). In the race for the TA1 seat on the Romoland School District board, Cynthia Navarro won with 752 votes, or 60.99 percent of the votes cast. Mary Wiegmann finished with 481 votes (39.01 percent).
In the race for the TA1 seat on the Perris Union High School District board, Steve Campos won with 5,832 votes, or 62.08 percent. Incumbent Randall Freeman finished with 3,563 votes (37.92 percent).
