Currently, there is only a stop sign for motorists attempting to exit the MSJC parking lot.
The Menifee City Council last week approved an agreement for the installation of a traffic signal on Antelope Road at the entrance to Mt. San Jacinto College.
The agreement calls for MSJC to reimburse the city for a portion of the $604,514 construction cost. The project will be performed by California Professional Engineering, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder.
Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman, a former member of the MSJC Board of Trustees, has long advocated for a traffic signal at that intersection, which has been the site of many accidents in recent years.
Construction is scheduled to begin March 6, 2023, with completion scheduled for May 31.
Will the city be removing the signal at Holland/Antelope for the overpass construction? What about a signal for traffic exiting from Country Gardens onto Antelope? Those who do NOT want to go onto the overpass will travel through our development to get to Antelope and to the shopping centers/college.
